He was born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania to the late John Calvin Burkett and Mabel Adele Burkett on March 29, 1942.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Miriam Julia Burkett, and his sisters Sharon and Cheryl. He is survived by his wife, the former Connie Askins, with whom he shared 54 years of love and happiness; his loving daughter, Kimberly Matha (Christopher Davis); and his much-loved grandson, Christopher John CJ Matha (Michaela Hutton-Bryan), all of Erie.
